ผ้าชนิดไหนสามารถนำมาตัดเย็บผ้าม่านได้?
1) ผ้าฝ้าย (Cotton): ผ้าฝ้ายเหมาะสำหรับตัดเย็บผ้าม่านเพราะมีความหนา ทิ้งตัวดีมีน้ำหนัก สีและลายพิมพ์บนพื้นผิวผ้าคมชัด สวยเด่น และสามารถนำมาซักทำความสะอาดง่าย ข้อเสียของผ้าฝ้ายคือซักผ้าม่านแล้วจะหด ผ้าจับฝุ่นง่าย ต้องทำความสะอาดบ่อย
2) ผ้าใยสังเคราะห์ (Polyester): ผ้าใยสังเคราะห์ เป็นผ้าที่เหมาะใช้ทำผ้าม่านเพราะเป็นผ้าที่ไม่จับฝุ่น ไม่ยับง่าย และมีน้ำหนักทิ้งตัวดี ผ้าใยสังเคราะไม่จำเป็นต้องทำความสะอาดบ่อย ใช้ได้กับผ้าม่านลายพิมพ์และทอลายในตัว
3) ผ้าซาติน (Satin): ผ้าม่านซาติน เป็นชนิดผ้าที่มีความเงาในตัว ทำให้แสงสะท้อนแล้วดูเด่นสวย คล้ายๆ กับผ้าไหม เป็นผ้าที่ไม่จับฝุ่นบ่อย
4) ผ้าแจ๊คการ์ด (Jacquard):เป็นชนิดผ้าทอลายในตัว เป็นผ้าที่เหมาะมากสำหรับทำผ้าม่าน เพราะลายในตัวดูสวยชัด และเวลาซัก สีจะไม่ตก ลายผ้าทอลึกลงไปในผ้า ทำให้ลายผ้าทนทาน ไม่จางลงหลังจากการใช้เป็นระยะยาว
5) ผ้ากำมะหยี่ (Velvet): เนื้อผ้ากำมาหยี่เหมาะสมกับการตัดเย็บทำผ้าม่านเพราะเป็นชนิดผ้าที่มีเนื้อหนาแน่นและหนัก ผ้าเนื้อนี้เพิ่มเสน่ให้กับหน้าตาของห้องได้อย่างดีเพราะเป็นเนื้อผ้าที่เงาเป็นประกาย คนต่างชาติชอบพูดว่าผ้าเนื้อกำมะหยี่ หรือ ผ้าชนิด Velvet เป็นผ้าที่เหมาะกับทำผ้าม่านธีมพระราชา (Royalty) ผ้ารุ่นนี้จะมีเนื้อที่ออกเงา ดูเด่นสวย ผ้ากำมะหยี่ช่วยบังแสงแดดไม่ให้เข้ามาในบ้านได้ดี โดยเฉพาะผ้ากำมะหยี่สีเข้มจะกันแสงแดดได้ดีกว่าผ้าสีอ่อน แต่ผ้าม่านสีอ่อนจะทำให้พื้นที่ห้องดูปลอดโปร่ง โล่งสบายตากว่า ข้อเสียของผ้ากำมะหยี่คือต้องปัดฝุ่นบ่อยเพราะมีผิวเนื้อผ้าที่จับฝุ่นง่ายกว่าผ้าทำม่านชนิดอื่น
